Needham Power Choice Rates Beat Eversource's New Basic Service Rate

NEEDHAM — All three of Needham's Power Choice electricity supply options are now priced below Eversource's newly adjusted residential Basic Service rate, the town said in a News Flash posted Friday, giving residents on Eversource's default service a cheaper alternative to consider.

Needham's town-run electricity aggregation program, Power Choice, now undercuts Eversource across the board, according to Friday's News Flash. All three Power Choice supply options, which give residents an alternative to Eversource's default electricity service, are priced below Eversource's residential Basic Service rate following Eversource's August 1 rate change, the town said. Residents currently billed under Eversource's Basic Service can review the Power Choice tiers and switch through the town's energy program.

Friday's update also pointed residents to this week's full edition of "The Latest News You Need(ham)," the town's weekly e-newsletter compiling announcements from Town Hall and its departments.
