Julia Sparks Borchardt Pfannenstiehl, of Needham, died June 18, 2026. She was predeceased by her former husband John Borchardt, her husband Fred Pfannenstiehl, her brothers Rick Sparks and John Sparks, and her parents Fred and Eleanor Sparks. She is survived by her son Paul, daughter Lauren, stepson Curt Pfannenstiehl (Donna Van Schagen) of Dover, son-in-law Chip Bergstrom of Wellesley, daughter-in-law Kelly Borchardt of Winchester, children-in-law Chris Guthrie of Wellesley and Allie Pfannenstiehl of Weston, and twelve grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 477 Washington St., Wellesley. A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 9 Glen Rd., Wellesley. Memorial donations may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation (scleroderma.org) or Good Shepherd Hospice Care (gscommunitycare.org) per the family's wishes. Maureen F. (Sullivan) Carey, 93, of Needham, died June 20, 2026. Born June 22, 1932, she was predeceased by her husband Paul J. Carey, her parents Timothy and Katherine Sullivan (Fay), her sister Eleanor McLaughlin, and her brother-in-law Robert McLaughlin. She is survived by her daughter Judy McGuiness of Clinton, CT; Patty Carey of Needham; Tina Carey of Fresno, CA; brothers Timothy and Joseph; siblings-in-law Catherine, Charlie Spozio, and Mary Carey; nieces and nephews; and her godson John Weaver. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 1305 Highland Ave., Needham. A funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 26, 2026, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1382 Highland Ave., Needham. Memorial donations may be made to The Jimmy Fund at Dana-Farber (danafarber.jimmyfund.org) per the family's wishes.
