Needham Revitalization Fund Approves New Fundraising Banner, Eyes Facebook Campaign
NEEDHAM — April 23, 2026 — Needham's Revitalization Trust Fund voted to send a new promotional banner to the Select Board for approval while flagging a near-term funding shortfall in its banner and flag program. The committee voted unanimously at its April 23 meeting to forward the banner — which carries the phrases "Beautiful Lasting Gratitude," "What Can You Make Possible?," and "Support," along with a QR code linking to the town's website — after a discussion about whether the tagline accurately captured the fund's full mission. The chair identified an immediate financial gap in the banner and flag program: a $3,000 quarterly payment is due with only one $1,000 sponsor committed, a shortfall compounded by the loss of long-standing donors and a service cost increase of close to $2,000. On a brighter note, all five memorial benches in the current pipeline are funded or installed, the William Baker "Needham to the World" profile has secured all four sponsors at $325 each for a combined $1,300, and building owner Graystar has agreed to fund Heights-area banners pending check receipt.
