Trust Fund Board Approves $1,500 DVAC Grant

Other Committee · Meeting of October 26, 2026

Needham's Commissioners of Trust Funds approved a $1,500 DVAC grant contingent on Board of Health sign-off and reviewed a $13 million trust portfolio. Public health nurse Laura Duff and longtime volunteer Deb Jacob asked for the speaker fee for a November 9 parent forum on discussing sexual violence with kids, to be led by Needham resident Jessica Teverell. Commissioners approved the request "subject to in due course receiving word that the Board of Health recommends approval," unanimously, after debating whether DVAC's internal 15-member vote and HHS Director Tim McDonald's sign-off satisfy the trust's terms.

Rockland Trust representatives reviewed the roughly $13 million portfolio, noting the S&P 500's top 10 holdings now make up "40.5 percent" of that index and fees run about 32 basis points. Commissioners also flagged a $560,000 fourth-quarter library gift likely tied to resident Robert Murray.
