Needham Youth Hockey Association has opened registration for three of its entry-level programs ahead of the 2026-27 season.

NEEDHAM -- With high school and youth sports largely quiet for the holiday week, the notable local development came from the ice rink.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- The Needham Youth Hockey Association announced that registration is now open for its Mite Development, Learn to Play and Learn to Skate programs, according to the organization's website. The group also reminded families to register skaters with USA Hockey and update their 2026-27 USA Hockey number on their player profile ahead of the coming season. NYHA, which serves players in Needham and Dover, told families to "enjoy your summer" and said programming would resume in late August.

No Needham High School contests were listed in the period, and no additional roundup items were reported by other local sources during the week.
