Needham Human Rights Committee faces leadership transition as three members step down. At the May 21 meeting, members Keith, Jen, and a third colleague announced they are leaving the committee, prompting a discussion about the next chair, possibly a co-chair arrangement, with a formal vote deferred to the June 18 meeting. Members recapped Monday's "America at 250" kickoff at the Senior Center, which drew roughly 90 residents for a facilitated discussion of the Declaration of Independence, with three more sessions running through June 30.
The committee also highlighted Race Amity Day on June 14, a Juneteenth observance on June 19, and a Pride Month rally on June 13, while one departing member noted a long-pending discrimination complaint process is nearly ready to launch as a publicly accessible Google form on the town website.
