NEEDHAM — A Needham Select Board-Arts Council interview panel recommended three appointees to fill out the Needham Council for Arts and Culture. The two-member subcommittee advanced Ol Akinci for the council's student seat, plus Lauren Faga and Lisa Pearlstein, after two other prospective applicants dropped out: one, identified only as Clayton, "did respond and said they withdrew," while a second, Bethany, "was not responsive to the multiple notifications," according to staff member Miles. Panel member Abby said she was "very comfortable moving forward with each of them." The recommendations now head to the full Select Board's October 13 agenda, which would give the arts council, long short three members, a full roster for the first time this cycle.
