Panel recommends three for park board seat
A Needham joint subcommittee interviewed its final candidate and recommended three finalists for a vacant Park and Recreation Commission seat.

NEEDHAM — A Needham joint subcommittee interviewed its final candidate and recommended three finalists for a vacant Park and Recreation Commission seat. Subcommittee members Josh and Michelle, after completing interviews of eight total applicants, voted 2-0 to forward Karen Pierce, Stephanie Doherty and a candidate identified as Steve to the full Select Board and Park and Recreation Commission for a final appointment decision. Applicant Ethan Talbert, interviewed at the meeting, said girls' soccer teams had received fewer home games than boys' teams during Needham's Memorial Day tournament "for the past three years." Michelle said the three recommended candidates "each bring a different skillset" to the commission.
The appointment will run only until the April town election, and a staff member, Miles, was asked to compile application materials for both boards' review.
