Conservation · Meeting of October 22, 2026

Needham's Conservation Commission approved wetland permits for three building projects and previewed an eight-unit Garden Street development. Chair Dave Herer and members Sue Barber, Bill Hebard, Clary Coutu and Reade Everett unanimously closed hearings and issued orders of conditions for 120 Charles River Street, 75 High Rock Street and 11 Mason Road, two carrying tree-mitigation and monitoring conditions. At 11 Mason Road, Herer required a "qualified professional" confirm the estimated seasonal high groundwater level before an infiltration system is installed.

Developers Mary Trudeau and Michael and Robert Tudoldi presented a revised 193 Garden Street plan with eight units, including two affordable units, near a protected wetland; Herer warned the layout lacks a required 10-foot infiltration setback and risks a "mounding problem." Hearings for 59 Pershing Road and 73 Curve Street were continued to November 12, 2026.
