NEEDHAM — The Needham Conservation Commission made hybrid meetings a permanent policy and closed out a long-pending wetlands case on Woodworth Road. Chair Dave Herer presided over the board, with member Sue Barber absent but voting yes by text. Commissioners approved a new order of conditions requiring 45 native shrubs and 20 native perennials in the 50-foot and 100-foot buffer zones at 28 Woodworth Road, DEP file 234-984, after finding the prior permit's fence and pool cabana exceeded approved limits.
The board also continued four hearings to October 22, including 59 Pershing Road and 73 Curve Street. Staff reported unpermitted riverbank armoring on a 43-acre Charles River property straddling Needham and Dover, with Herer calling it "a big one because it will trigger MEPA."
