Needham CPC sets deadline for answers on three funding bids

Needham's Community Preservation Committee says it lacks answers on three funding bids ahead of a March 11 hearing. Chair Dave Harrow told the panel that "if we go by what we have, the only project I would approve is the disc golf," a feasibility study that drew little debate. A roughly $3 million Elliott School playground and field proposal, which member Paul said appeared based on only a preliminary concept, includes synthetic turf the committee has already ruled out of funding.
A separate $800,000 Needham Housing Authority roof and solar project has gone unanswered despite follow-up questions about projected electricity savings. The committee set a February 27 deadline for applicants to respond and unanimously approved its February 11 minutes.
