Select Board · Meeting of August 15, 2026

Needham's Select Board triaged roughly 50 town initiatives into priority tiers at an August 15 goal-setting session. Town Manager Katie warned that "the vast majority of staff time is already committed to the delivery of municipal services," limiting how many new projects can move forward at once. The board pushed Needham Center parking recommendations from a Stantec study to an 18-to-36-month tier, kept a golf course lease renewal (expiring April 2029) and a DPW facilities master plan in the near-term tier, and referred a $50,000 state-funded economic development strategic plan to the Council of Economic Advisors.

The Affordable Housing Trust, holding under $250,000 largely from the North Hill development, stayed a "high priority" but on a flexible timeline. No formal votes were taken.
